My goal as a designer is to craft user experiences that are not only visually pleasing, but also intuitive and engaging.

I’m a designer based in San Francisco and have graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in Industrial Design. Following her degree in Art History, she received a master's degree in Fine and Decorative Arts from Sotheby's graduate program in New York. Lau was awarded an honorary doctorate from The New York School of Interior Design in 2012, and was the keynote speaker for the college's 175 graduating candidates.

Lau was born in Arizona and currently resides in New York City, where she has established her interior design firm. Prior to the development of her own design firm, Lau received a degree in Art History, and a master's degree in fine and decorative arts from Sotheby's Graduate program. In 2001, Lau launched her interior design firm and continued to serve as an independent adviser to decorative arts collectors of the 20th Century. Amy Lau honed her sophisticated aesthetic as a specialist in midcentury and contemporary furniture—first as design director for Manhattan’s Lin-Weinberg Gallery, later as cofounder of the celebrated Design Miami fair.

The Arizona native developed a deep passion for design and honed her curatorial eye studying eminent historians. She received her master’s in fine and decorative art from the prestigious Sotheby’s Institute of Art. She then served as a director at Thomas O’Brien’s Aero and spent five years as the design director of noted 20th century specialist Lin-Weinberg Gallery in New York City. In 2018, Amy served as the keynote speaker at The Phoenix Art Museum’s annual fund-raising gala.
